One of Brooklyn's biggest adrenaline rushes, crossing Grand Army Plaza on foot, is about to lose some of its edge. Today's Post notes that construction is underway on a long-awaited project to make it easier to cross the murderous traffic circle on foot and bicycle. When it's done, there will be three new pedestrian islands, five crosswalks and a protected bike path. In all, 11,000 square feet of asphalt will be turned over to pedestrians, cyclists and landscaping. We also understand that life insurance premiums for buyers at Richard Meier's On Prospect Park are being reduced by one-fourth.
