Barely There Constructoporn: Hot Mystery Lot Action!

New, 5 comments

While we're on the topic of East 13th Street, just across the street from David Zwirner's pit of despair are the famed East Village mystery lots: the Milstein's large overgrown plot that in two decades has seen more dead bodies turn up on it than shovels taken to it, and Slavko Bernic's smaller lot right next door at 229 East 13th Street, reportedly getting an eight-story (rental?) building. We know little to nothing about both projects, but at least we can confirm that Bernic is actually doing something with his land. The structure has finally risen above the construction fencing, a miracle on par with U.S.A. 4, USSR 3, and the Temple's leftover oil burning for eight days.
