David Zwirner's East Village Townhouse to Nowhere

New, 1 comment

As a Curbed commenter pointed out RE: the demise of East 13th Street, art dealer David Zwirner is combining neighboring five-floor townhouses between Second and Third Avenues into a single-family megamansion of sorts. The project has been shrouded in a level of mystery, but luckily for us, the front door of his more recent acquisition?232 East 13th Street?was left wide open this morning. Above is a peek behind the curtain, and what a peek it is! A little bit of flooring that trails off into a gaping abyss of nothingness. From the back, the building probably looks like one of those flat cardboard skyscrapers used as backdrops in old-timey movies. In other words, it probably looks awesome.
