On the Racked: CB2 & Muji to Rock Broadway Retail, Muji Goes Paper-Free, Marc Jacobs Buys Up W. Village, More

New, 5 comments

And now, the latest from Racked, covering retail and shopping from the sidewalks up.

1) Soho: The world as we know it on Broadway just below Grand is about to change. Racked reports that Manhattan's first CB2, the younger and hipper Crate and Barrel, will be opening on November 6. Muji will be following by throwing open its doors on Friday, November 16.

2) Soho: As for Muji itself, Racked's blanket coverage includes photos of the newly de-papered storefront at 455 Broadway. The new home of Japanese "no brand quality goods" will be selling its wares from 3,200 square feet of space. If you missed the advance look at the store and products, then by all means, do click here.

3) West Village: Racked also has an update on complete and total Marc Jacobs West Village takeover."Rumor has it that the new boutique at the northeast intersection of West 4th at Bank, slated to open next month, is just the beginning of an all-out avenue takeover." There are deal being negotiated on other properties and the "master plan is to accrue as much real estate as possible so he can flip the company within the next two years."

4) Lower East Side: If all this leaves one with a need for caffeine, well, Racked has that too: Jack "Organic, Fair Trade, Shade Grown" Mazzola of Jack's Stir Brew fame will open a third coffee corridor on Suffolk off of Rivington.
