Barge Pool Trails Shoe, Beating iPhone in Design Competition

Maybe there are still stories about the Bronx-bound Floating Pool because it still feel like summer outside. Today's Daily News reports the Barge Pool is running behind a Toms canvas shoe (and closing fast) in the annual online voting for the Cooper-Hewitt People's Design Award. The pool is second to the Toms, but ahead of the iPhone, a Ronnybrook milk jug glass and, even, the Brooklyn Bridge. Top-name entries like the the Seagram Building and Teardrop Park in Battery Park City aren't even close to the top of the list. The online voting closes on October 16, so remember, vote early and often.
