On the Racked: Mango Gets Peeled, UWS Gets Sweet, West Village Has Marc, No Action at Brooklyn TJ's

And now, the latest from Racked, covering retail and shopping from the sidewalks up.

1) Soho: The latest retail development on Broadway is the pre-holiday season opening of Spanish cheap-chic chain Mango. It the storefront at 561 Broadway that's featured the huge billboard of actress Penelope Cruz. Racked has the reveal of the interior: "Shiny black terrazzo floor, lush green palms, sparkly lights." Shopping starts tomorrow.

2) Upper West Side: The new Jacques Torres outpost on Amsterdam Avenue is "elegant and refined" with "shiny oak flooring, twinkling crystal chandeliers and dark walnut walls." Forget about all that, though. It's all about the bonbons, truffles, pastries, chocolate-covered coffee beans and--lest we forget--hot chocolate.

3) West Village: It's Marc Time. Both the Little Marc (at 289 West 4th) and a Marc Jacobs Collection accessories store (at 310 West 4th) are open. The kid's store has a case full of vintage Tiffany charms and the collection store "seems to be a straight mini-version of the Soho collection store, carrying what looks to be the very same stuff."

4) Cobble Hill: What is going on with the Brooklyn Trader Joe's at Atlantic and Court? The brand new photos show a distinct lack of progress.
