Numbers Game: More Condos and More Coops

New, 5 comments

Market slowdown? Well, maybe so, but not last year and not in last year in Brooklyn. The Real Estate reports the latest figures on condo and coop plans filed with the state Attorney General's office: they accepted 710 condo and co-op plans for New York City in 2006, a 73.6 percent increase over 2005. That works out to 26,474 housing units. Fifty six of the plans were for condos and coops in Brooklyn and 32 percent were for projects in Manhattan. Sorry, though, Brooklyn: It turns out Manhattan was way out in front with 14,478 units versus 7,784 units.
