In advance of next week's public hearing on the slow-moving Moynihan Station/Farley Post Office/Penn Station plan, the Friends of Moynihan Station?a coalition of officials, politicians and members of the late senator's family?held a press conference on the steps of the Farley building to announce their support of, duh, Moynihan Station. And what good is a symbolic press conference without some sort of symbolic act? None! So the group "nailed" their principles to a freestanding column they had brought along for the event. Those radical principles include protecting the Farley Post Office's architecture and creating a "great new train station." OK, so Martin Luther, they're not.
