Will End of Gas Pains Clear Way for Big New Burg Park?

New, 3 comments

One of the final pieces of the big 28-acre Bushwick Inlet Park puzzle may be falling into place. The Daily News reports that legislation is being introduced in Albany today that will drive the final stake into the heart of the proposed TransGas Energy Plant. (That is the project that has been "killed" repeatedly but is still technically alive.) The legislation would seize the eight acres owned by the utility by eminent domain. Pleadings and filings about the power plant are still under review in Albany. Meanwhile, the eminent domain train appears ready to leave the station. Next up: lawsuits. TransGas is not the only land owner that may have land taken to make way for the park.
