And now, the latest from Racked, covering retail and shopping from the sidewalks up.
1) Soho: Have a look inside the new younger, hipper Crate & Barrel offshoot, CB2, which is now open on Broadway. The signs went up yesterday and the doors swung open at 10am. It's "impeccably clean, well-laid-out and stocked with just about everything you'd need to furnish an apartment."
2) Williamsburg: Running to Enid's to beat Sunday brunch line and shoving into the L Train will soon no longer be the only forms of Billyburg hipster exercise. Racked reports that the Burg is getting an actual fitness center. It's called Soma Health Club and it will be housed in a cool and huge building (formerly a theater) at 107 South 6th Street between Berry and Driggs and is slated to open in January.
3) Downtown Brooklyn: Racked's exclusive news that Target will be opening at the development going up at the Albee Square site turns out to be true, but what about rumors of other retailers like Nordstrom's? "It's easy to imagine that Kohl's and JCPenney would be interested in the area," Racked writes. "But Nordstrom? Just because Marty Markowitz flaps his lips does not make it so; the store will most definitely open its first NYC outpost in Manhattan."
4) East Village: David Z. is making excellent progress on it new St. Mark's Place outpost. Look for a late November/early December debut.
