The new $15 million Brooklyn Navy Yard Historical Center was unveiled earlier today. It will involve restoring a historic building at the Navy Yard complex, where a significant number of buildings are slated to have dates with wrecking balls and for which a variety of developments are planned. The facility will have 25,000 square feet, "celebrate the Navy Yard's past, present and future" and house the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment.
