Does Tagging Improve or Detract From This Astoria Building?

New, 19 comments

There a special something about new buildings getting tagged up before the bricks are even set that says "Welcome to the neighborhood" better than anything else can. This specimen is from Astoria. Miss Heather, who sent it to the inbox, writes, "If you look carefully, you'll notice that every single balcony has been tagged. I think it gives this otherwise dull building a cozy, 'lived in' feel." To that, however, we must add a question: What's up with the crappy brickwork near the top of the building?
