Jay-Z may have 99 problems, but locating a comfortable bed near the High Line where he can get a good night's rest and maybe a nice nightcap following a long day of walking the new park and taking in the work at local galleries AIN'T ONE! HotelChatter unearths a report that Jigga has teamed up with developers Charlie Blaichman and Abe Shnay to purchase 510 West 22nd Street, which currently houses an old Time Warner Cable warehouse (right). Down it will come, and up will go the first of many planned J Hotels. The 150,000-square-foot building will sit at Tenth Avenue, putting it in prime High Line/West Chelsea starchitect wars territory. Previously, the property (and some air rights) was reported as being sold for $66 million to an "anonymous buyer from the entertainment industry." Mystery solved! So, maybe Jay-Z didn't want to sit around waiting for Andre Balazs and Shigeru Ban anymore?
