On the Racked: Like a Dorm Room, UWS Apple Rumoring, Everybody Loves Muji, More

And now, the latest from Racked, covering retail and shopping from the sidewalks up.

1) Flatiron: "Walking into the new Free People store at 79 Fifth Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets feels kinda like entering a college dorm room: there's shag carpeting everywhere, a ton of 19-year-old girls milling about wearing artfully-draped scarves, and 'Pass the Dutchie' is playing over the speaker system." Check it out.

2) Upper West Side: Racked checks out the UWS Apple rumor and pronounces it right on target: "We sniffed around, and damn if it isn't true."

3) Soho: Everybody loves Racked's favorite new store, including the Times. The Critical Shopper was "clearly swept away with the place's pleasant understatedness."

4) West Village: Tired of the depressing, if not bizarre, vigils for the spirit of Washington Square Park? Then head over to today's Street Scenes and vote on whether or not you like what Mo Rocca is wearing. NB: "save the squirrels" is not an option.
