Those who seek the sort of antiseptic living delivered by AvalonBay Communities on the Lower East Side and in Noho (and, coming soon, Long Island City), take heart: late last week, AvalonBay broke ground on its newest New York tentacle, its 20-story, 296-unit rental development on the northwest corner of Morningside Drive and Cathedral Parkway. As noted last spring, this holy land comes under development via a 99 year lease with the perpetually-under-construction Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine just down the block.
We've spied the site before, but never seen a rendering of what's to come until CityRealty dropped the little teaser above. A check of architects R. M. Kliment + Frances Halsband's website comes up empty, too. Anyone seen more?
