On the Market Floorporn: 12 East 73rd Street

Now that billionaire J. Christopher Flowers is in possession of the $53 Million Harkness House at 4 East 75th Street, what need does he have for the $17 million Lycee Mansion at 12 East 73rd? No friggin' need, of course. The Observer's Max Abelson reports that Flowers is flipping the 21-room limestone mansion, and let's just say that billionaires don't become billionaires by being dummies. Flowers finalized the deal on the place three months ago, and he's now listing the place at $23 million, an instant profit of $6 million. And did we mention it's a fixer-upper? Brown Harris Stevens broker Sami Hassoumi told Abelson it's "halfway renovated—it’s six months to a year to finish the house properly.” Well played, Mr. Flowers.
