Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Jay-Z Slept Here

1) Remember when we told you about Jay-Z abandoning his $40,000/month Time Warner Center rental? Here's the details on that. The owner of the 4,825-square-foot penthouse, businessman Michael Hirtenstein, bought the place for $15.7 million, then decided he didn't want to live there a week before starting a $3 million renovation. Hence the renting to Jigga. But he just sold the place to Mark Cuban's business partner for $27 million, a staggering $5,596/sf. Wow. Floorplorn above. Photos in the listing. 2) The Southampton mansion that Howard Stern has been renting for $600,000 while his own mansion is being built nearby has been sold for $34 million. Stern's crib won't be ready for the season, so he's probably cranky. You'd be too if you just had to give up your putting green and four staff bedrooms. Check it out. [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]

3) The lovely Christadora House on Avenue B overlooking Tompkins Square Park has just lost a celebrity tenant, twice. Vincent D'Onofrio owned adjacent condos on the fifth floor of the building, but he never combined them. He just sold them both in a package deal for $2.6 million. When combined, the three-bedroom spread would have 50-feet of park frontage. [Max Abelson/Manhattan Transfers]

4) When actor Treat Williams first moved into his co-op on 78th and Amsterdam 30 years ago, he says the neighborhood was so crappy, he "was stepping over body bags." Uh, okay. Tired of the Upper West Side death and destruction, he's listing the place for $4.75 million and moving to Utah. Yes, this is that apartment. [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]
