Is Williamburg's Edge Losing Some Edge?

Just when we were looking for pile drivers and construction equipment, a new "Land for Lease" sign has appeared on Kent Avenue on part of the site where Douglaston Development's The Edge is supposed to rise. Billyburg blogger INSIJS, who has been tracking The Edge like prey watching predator, made the discovery. He writes:

In this case its a rather large orange sign: a brand-spanking new "Land for Lease" sign that showed up earlier this week on the fence that surrounds the former impound lot at 128 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg. The lot, which runs between North 6th and North 7th, from Kent Avenue to the river, is one of two lots that are slated for the four-tower mega-development...We revisited the site's building permit status and discovered that its still under a stop work order stemming from expired demolition and fence permits. No new applications have been submitted since April of last year...What will they build and when will they built it? Stay tuned.
