Hipsters can breathe a big sigh of relief. Brooklyn Vegan is reporting that Jelly NYC, which produced last summer's free shows at McCarren Pool, will be producing another series of shows this summer. They'll also have a benefit for the Open Space Alliance, which is said to be taking over management of the pool space next year with the ultimate goal of turning it into a pool again.
Whether this makes the Pool Aid crowd or other neighborhood people content is another matter. Pool Aid has been pushing for events that attract everyone, "not just hipsters." Some residents have been hoping for no concerts at all. In any case, another summer of music, dodgeball, burgers and brews at Brooklyn's water-free pool. More to come.
