On this slushy Monday, the possible doubling in price of the price tag attached to the Brooklyn Bridge Park development is as good a reason as any to think about hanging out by the water and getting some sun. The park hasn't had an easy time of it. There has been controversy about highrise development that resulted in a lawsuit that was dismissed and many delays. Now, NYC Park Advocates is saying that in budgeting $150 million for the 1.3 mile park, the
Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation "is woefully underestimating costs" and that the cost could approach $300 million. Design and updated budget are due next month.
