1) Stuy Town/Peter Cooper Village: So much for the dreams of another faceless tower in Stuy Town. And that big pile of dirt isn't going to turn into a playground either. A commenter reports, "I live in Peter Cooper - they've informed us that all the digging is for replacement of the 60-year-old water pipes. Doesn't really address the 60-year-old water pipes inside the buildings, but hey."
2) Greenwich Village: The above rendering arrived in our inbox claiming to be the proposed New School building at the southeast corner of 14th and 5th. Our original tipster said Skidmore Owings & Merrill was on the job, though that has not been confirmed. Our take on the design: very new!
