Eater Tastings: Salvation Is Nigh

Behold, this week's goodness from Curbed/SLNY restaurant blog Eater...

1) Keith McNally (see Balthazar, Schiller's, Pastis) is stripping the plywood from his West Village Italian Morandi (above). Opening date: "hopefully soon."
2) Searching for a savior #1: What of Montrachet, shuttered for eight months with no sign of renewal on the horizon? New chef? Death with dignity? The smart money says Nobu Next Door holding pen.
3) Searching for a savior #2: Can Samurai meathouse Kobe Club survive the slings and arrows of a thousand bad reviews? You bet it can! A bevy of suggestions, including our personal fave: "The best thing for Kobe Club at this point is to use the name recognition and just change it to a LA Lakers-themed restaurant celebrating the life and times of the famed All-Star."
4) Kenny Shopsin will cook you breakfast.
