Celebrity Real Estate Wrap: Her Madgesty Returns?

1) Hide your orphans! Madonna was spotted checking out a few Upper East Side townhouses, and she may be scooping up a mansion to move her kids to the good ol' US of A. Braden Keil reports that Madge made the rounds with Corcoran broker babe Wendy Maitland, and she was particularly taken with architect Emilio Ambasz's $35 million East 62nd Street townhouse. Listed by Brown Harris Steven's own superbroker Paula Del Nunzio, the 100-year-old John Duncan-designed mansion offers 14,700 square feet of pure, uncut luxury. When the house hit the market last year for $31 million, the Observer's Michael Calderone described Ambasz's curious selling strategies. That was 12 months and $4 million less ago. 2) Speaking of ridiculous Upper East Side townhouses, Bob Guccione's 67th Street double-wide still hasn't been sold, but that could be about to change. Word is there's an accepted offer, but will it top the $53 million record? [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]

3) Moving it over to the Upper West Side, Tom Brokaw bought late New York Review of Books editor Barbara Epstein's co-op in the Atelier on West 67th Street. But before you go stalking your old man crush, he probably bought it for his daughter. [Max Abelson/M'hattan Transfers]

4) After flipping a two-bedroom unit in 1 Fifth Avenue not too long ago, actress and celebrity mom Blythe Danner picked up a three-bedroom apartment in the Washington Square Park-overlooking building for $3.125 million. [Braden Keil/Gimme Shelter]
