I'm fixing up a loft in the Tribeca historic district, and it's become abundantly clear that plumbing a/c four stories up to the roof is not going to happen. How illegal is putting a Mr. Slim compressor on the fire escape or mounted somehow on a ledge? My upstairs neighbor has had one on his fire escape for a few years and nobody's complained about the pipes poking through our lovely romanesque facade.Answers, as always, in the comments.
