That's Rather Hideous: Low 70's, High Kitsch

That's Rather Hideous examines questionable decisions in interior design as revealed in listing photos. Nominees, please, to tips@curbed.com.

It's hating on high-end listings week at That's Rather Hideous! After dissecting that $18 million Upper West Side penthouse, a reader nominates an even pricier ($18.4 million, contract signed) listing: "The description intimates that this may be either 720 or 740 Park Avenue, or clearly leads the prospective buyer that it might be one of those two buildings. But c'mon, look at those cabinets! The green wall paper? Maybe a servants apartment? No way this can be either of those buildings, can it? Those are the only two buildings in the low 70's that I know of Candela being involved in."
