After taunting us with the Chandelier of Insanity at his downtown residential development, lunatic interior designer Philippe Starck is gracing his second Manhattan new development with his presence. Above, behold two different renderings of Gramercy, a 21-story, 207-unit development planned for 340 East 23rd Street. The Real Deal broke the news of the development, which is architected by GKV Architects and dubbed Gramercy due to its proximity to Gramercy Park (a mere three and a half blocks away, according to exclusive Curbed research).
The real fun, of course, will be inside. A teaser, courtesy of TRD: "Buyers can personalize units according to three finishing packages coordinated by Starck. Potential homeowners have a choice of classic, culture or nature packages.... Homeowners can also buy Starck-designed furniture and housewares." Even more amazingly? The project is to be marketed by Michael Shvo.
Starck and Shvo? It's a glorious Curbed synergy we'd never even dared dream of. (C'mon, Jade didn't really count.) Commence complete, total obsession with this project... now.
