Rumblings Update: 23rd & 3rd Welcomes the Irish

We're jumping the gun on tomorrow's regularly scheduled Rumblings responses to bring you some fresh intel on the new condstrosity at 23rd and 3rd. The J.D. Carlisle development, designed by Perkins Eastman and dubbed Gramercy Green, will feature studios, 1-bedrooms and 2-bedrooms full of new appliances and a "neutral palette." Ho hum, right? But here's the kicker: at last report, the place was only being sold in Ireland.

Whether or not that remains true (Irish Times password, anyone?), KMS Commercial, an Irish firm that specializes in overseas properties (see also Atelier West), has produced a gloriously entertaining marketing brochure (warning: pdf) detailing the many virtues of its 208 units in the property as well as surrounding environs. Page four, for instance, is capped by this oversized text: "The new development can also be credited to the revitalisation of Madison Square Garden." There's also a brief survey of the Manhattan residential sales and rental market ("one of the strongest rental markets Irish investors will see") as well as a map pinpointing the building's proximity to "Meat Market."
