How Much Would the Rich Get Richer?

Manhattan's commercial real estate market is going through an unprecedented boom, but with every office tower and its mother charging record rents, which skyscrapers are the most valuable of the bunch? The Observer answers this question by asking the gentlemen that hold the answer: the ones that buy the buildings. Among the Top 10 honorees are the Macklowes' GM Building (above), with estimates topping $4 billion, new guy 7 World Trade Center, and Tishman Speyer's Rockefeller Center, of which Joseph Moinian says, "Buildings like this are art." Notable snubs include the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building, which seems to be the butt of many jokes within the inner sanctum of billionaire developers. If a gigantic skyscraper could cry, well, let's just say Fifth Avenue would be flooded.
