WTC SITE—Perhaps the long-delayed, floor-by-floor demolition of the Deutsche Bank Building located at 130 Liberty Street adjacent to the World Trade Center Site would be better off never happening. Early this morning, a 15-foot section of steel pipe fell from the 35th floor of the building, piercing the roof of a nearby fire station. Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries and released. Demolition work on the building has been halted. Let it be said: we did have our premonitions. [AP via Crains, NY1]
