On the Racked: Ice Cream Apocalypse in Harlem!

And now, the latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Harlem: Does the coming of hyper-gourmet ice cream to 125th Street and Fifth Avenue signal the end of the known universe? OF COURSE IT DOES.

2) Hell's Kitchen: A Racked tipster reports on two newcomers to the nabe: "NW corner of 55th and 8th: After 5 years of being vacant after a fire, the Vitamin Shoppe is opening on that corner. They have been working on it for a few months, and it looks like it will open in the next month or two. SE corner of 55th and 9th: After 3 years of being vacant, North Fork Bank is opening on that corner. They just posted signs in the window yesterday." Oh, and speaking of banks...

3) Brooklyn: If it's Friday, it must be time for another round of rumors about Wal-Mart coming to the 718.
