CurbedWire: LES Pit of Despair, Greening Williamsburg

LOWER EAST SIDEThe tipster who snapped this pic from the heart of Hell Square (Ludlow between Houston and Stanton) calls it "Lower East Side Pit of Despair!" [CurbedWire Inbox]

WILLIAMSBURGThe Williamsburg waterfront isn't the only new greenery in Billyburg. Another photo tipster spotted some new shrubbery on Kent Avenue near 14th Street. He labels his art "Williamsburg Landscape Transition -- New street trees and paving but weeds and garbage remain."[CurbedWire Inbox]

MEATPACKING DISTRICTA Curbed reader files this development report, "A building on West St. between W 12th and Bethune has been demolished over the last few months. They have banners up on the sidewalk shed advertising the website: SomethingSuperior. Just a teaser so far. They are currently load testing piles at the site, so construction may be imminent. Also the former Diane Von Furstenberg store across the W 12th street is almost done being demolished and presumably with have something new built there as well." [CurbedWire Inbox]
