That didn't take long. Perhaps you recall the Heavy Metal Building that could rise above the Carroll Street subway stop on Smith Street? Well, it may lose some of its shine in favor of some red brick, but no matter, it seems to have inspired a profusion of flyers posted around the neighborhoods as well as space near the subway entrance where people are writing unkind things about the building. Things like "TOO BIG" and "monstrosity" and "parking lot is ugly, but come on." The flyer itself calls the building "massive, over-scaled and disrespectful to our existing scale and style of architecture and to the quality of our environment and way of life." Nothing like a battle between a developer and an (increasingly organized) neighborhood opposition.
