It's been a busy week for the Brooklyn Heights waterfront with the talk about stuff at One Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Trader Joe's rumor. So, it's only fitting to close it out with news that the Barge Pool, which has been docked there since fall, will be opening to swimmers this summer, on July 4, no less. The pool on the "Floating Lady" can handle 174 people. (That's what they say, but it looks like you'll be good friends with your fellow Barge Poolers.) The barge itself can have 400 people aboard. It also has a kiddie pool, a snack bar, changing rooms and showers. The plan is still to float it to different locations in city. You can almost hear it now: Let's hit the Barge Pool and Water Taxi Beach.
