Roosevelt Island Slowly Starving To Death

While we cry tears for the slow decline of Manhattan's multivaried neighborhoods, perhaps we've been remiss in not showing more remorse for the real victim. Food blogger NYCNosh files from Roosevelt Island: "The past seven years have been cruel ones to Roosevelt Island, especially when it comes to food. Once home to a bakery, a pizza parlor, a fish store, and several small, mid-priced eateries, the town has witnessed a slow erosion of its eating options... Today, there are exactly two restaurants left on the entire island."
