Gowanus' Hotel Le Bleu Ready to Ooze

The Gowanus hotel boom takes another great leap forward with the signage and website for Hotel Le Bleu, the Fourth Avenue boutique hotel with a view of both the Gowanus and Boymelgreen Development's Novo Park Slope. Andres Escobar designed the interiors and the rooms have glass-walled showers and 42-inch plasma TVs. The rates were supposed to run $149 to $249 a night, but a look at the website shows it will set you back up to $359 for an "Elite King Room with a View" and that even the discounted rates run around $290. Some of those Le Bleu views include the Gowanus itself. It looks like the doors open on July 9. The website promises "breathtaking design that oozes sophistication." Also that it's "Close to the heart of New York City. Yet light years away from the mundane." Did anyone tell them that the word "ooze," in any shape or form, shouldn't be used in the context of something a couple of blocks from the Gowanus? That's a taxi depot to the left and outpatient dialysis facility to the right.
