How serious is David Walentas about building his St. Ann's-Dock St. project? Received in the mail today: a glossy piece of literature, along with a perforated card to mail back to David Yassky. "Dear Council Member Yassky, I support the Dock Street DUMBO project. The families of DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, and Brooklyn Heights need a new middle school in our area . . ."He concludes, "It's all about the kids." Another tipster who got the same mailer writes:I live at 70Wash and in my mailbox yesterday was a huge color pamphlet asking for support of the new building on Dock Street that will include the school, and block all of the views...The balls on Walentas are huge and made of steel.The pitch on the site leans on the new school for "approximately 300 neighborhood children."
