The long-awaited Harlem hotel at Frederick Douglass Boulevard and 124th Street?on the site of the old Associated Supermarket?has been widely rumored to be headed for W Hotel status. Did that ever pan out? No really, somebody tell us, we have no idea. We do know, however, that demolition work has begun. A Curbed phototipster sent along some snappies of the grounds. On the left is the lot that so graciously gave up its air rights for the hotel, and that may become a two-story parking garage for the project. On the right is where the hotel will spring up. Harlem, can you feel the transient excitement?!?!
