It's hard to say whether this next question that landed in our Asked Curbed Inbox was asked out of simple curiosity or has to do with an actual situation, but it raises an interesting issue about coop applications and identity theft:
I have a question: Has anyone ever heard of a case where someone had his or her identity stolen because a co-op board member threw away an application package? These packages have all sorts of sensitive data -- social security number, tax forms, credit card numbers, bank statements.
