On the Racked: Phillip Lim Opens in Soho, Muji on the Way!

And now, the latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

[A plywood peek at Wall Street's forthcoming Tiffany. Booyeah.]

1) Soho: Perhaps the most buzzed about Soho boutique opening of the past year, Phillip Lim's Mercer Street outpost opened yesterday, serving both the female and male genders. All well and good. But perhaps even more notably, overbuzzed Japanese retailer Muji plans to come to the neighborhood this fall, opening in the former Iceberg Army Navy store on Broadway. This little neighborhood's gonna make it after all.

2) Upper West Side: From the grocery aisles: a Racked tipster notes that end appears neigh for a Gristedes. Blame 15 Central Park West? Sure, why not.

3) Cobble Hill: "We've already been bringing this up to buyers. The younger group - the college kids - love the idea because it's for the money-conscious but you still get quality." Yup—real estate brokers are already hyping Brooklyn's first Trader Joe's to sell apartments. Embrace the hype!
