The old Ward Bread Bakery building, which made headlines when its parapet crashed onto the sidewalk back in April, is now sheathed in a silky white frock. Now that it's all dressed up, demolition on the building—set to become a parking lot in the Atlantic Yards footprint—can continue. Per the Brooklyn Eagle, asbestos abatement restarted yesterday, and the parapet is set to be removed completely during the next six weeks. Meantime, there's still no official word on what caused the parapet to fall; our money's still on "prank gone awry."
