1) Soho: Above, the sleek facade that Vivienne Tam and associates have erected on the southwest corner of the deeply beautiful Jean Nouvel development 40 Mercer. A first look into the unfinished space indicates we've got a ways to go here. Estimated opening: November.
2) Soho: Further north on Mercer Street, another fashionable newcomer is prepping for an opening in a smaller space. We speak of Vera Wang, who's busy settling in at 158 Mercer (between Houston/Prince). The shelves are not yet stocked, but we've got an exclusive first look into the space. Summon the frippery! Estimated opening: October.
3) Soho: Confirmed at last: Madewell, J. Crew's younger, hipper sibling, will be opening a store at 486 Broadway (at Broome). Despite this fact, much secrecy still swirls. Intrigue, deceit, denim! Estimated opening: November.
