Props for FiDi on Sept. 11

On the sixth anniversary of 9/11, those looking for a positive story about Lower Manhattan's comeback need not look far. The downtown residential boom?with office building conversions and new construction creating 6,000 new apartments over the past four years and 5,000 more over the next few?gets a big pat on the back from both the Times and the Post. The focus is on how buildings such as the Setai, District, William Beaver House (glimmering, right) et al. have led to new restaurants and retail in the area to cater to the Financial District's new high-flyers. Nothing you haven't heard before, but it will probably be the only time you read about William Beaver in the context of doing something positive.
