UPDATE 3:40PM: A Curbed reader notes possible issues with the scaffold, writing "A coworker just told me she complained to the city about that very scaffold. No safety precautions when they were putting it up, almost took her out."
UPDATE 3:50PM: WNBC is reporting that the collapse was caused by bricks that fell from the 14th floor of a 40-story building under construction. They've also posted images of the post-collapse scene. Sevenonline reports one minor injury.
