Planning Is Going to Get Boring Again

Most of the time, planning is just, well, planning--a dry business that's mostly of interest to planners. So, you have to appreciate someone that adds entertainment value to the mix. Take real estate developer Dolly Williams, the Planning Commission member from Brooklyn with the bright yellow Porsche who enjoyed parking it in front of Park Slope fire hydrants and had to step away from things like Atlantic Yards and the Gowanus rezoning because of issues of investment in the former and property ownership in the latter. Also, there was a little billing mess about some concrete in Harlem. Alas, the Daily News reports this morning that Dolly may not be reappointed, meaning that the Planning Commission will get back some its watching paint dry flavor.
