Merrill Lynch Getting Sexy 'Heavy Tug' to Stay

Now that the euphoria over the final World Trade Center designs has faded, the real task sets in: fillin' the suckers. The Sun updates us on the city's quest to keep Merrill Lynch downtown, where their World Financial Center (right) lease goes to 2013. The financial services giant is considering a move to Midtown, as well as a lease renewal or a switcheroo to one of the new WTC towers. Apparently, the whoring is upsetting some: "Many find the heavy tug from the state and city irksome, as it creates an unnecessary atmosphere of intra-borough competition for an entity that is not threatening to leave the city."
