CurbedWire: Back Inside 20 Bayard, Huge St. Vincent's Mtg Turnout, Like 'Serene Georgica Pond'

New, 20 comments

WILLIAMSBURG?Last week, when we posted pics of some model apartment interiors at 20 Bayard, one of the anchors of our Karl Fischer Row obsession, a commenter wrote that it "reminds me of that from the '72 Munich Olympic village. (yeah aluminum windows) And the interiors... It's so 1972 Munich living room meets 1982 Munich kitchen meets 1992 Munich bedroom meets 2002 two-and-a-half star Munich hotel bathroom!" The photo above, showing another view from 20 Bayard, came with an email with the subject line, "No Olympic Village Here." [CurbedWire Inbox]

WEST VILLAGE?More than 800 people showed up at last night's Community Board 2 meeting on the St. Vincent's expansion plan. The Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation reports that more than 100 people spoke at the marathon four-hour meeting "and by far the majority urged that changes be made to the current plan to make it more compatible with the scale and character of the Greenwich Village Historic District." UPPER EAST SIDE?There's a groundbreaking to report on the Georgica at 85th and Second. The 20-story building will have 58 units. For those having winter dreams of the Hamptons, the release announcing construction says the "name was inspired by the serene Georgica Pond in East Hampton Village." [CurbedWire Inbox]
