The New York Water Taxi has announced a service suspension on its South Brooklyn route, which brought commuters from the Brooklyn Army Terminal to Pier 11 in Lower Manhattan. The company has also renewed its call for public subsidies to keep the business running in the wake of surging fuel costs. With the suspension of the Williamsburg- and LIC-serving East River line, only the Yonkers/Hudson River route remains operational. [Amy's New York Notebook]
