CurbedWire: Tokyo Tower in LIC, Issues at Beacon Tower, Big Brooklyn Raccoons

LONG ISLAND CITY?A reader with a sharp eye notes in an interesting feature of the day & night views of a unit at Casa Viscaya: "In the 'Residences' section of the site they show renderings of a handsomely decorated model living-room, with views of the Queensborough bridge. The pic fades to a night-scene rendering of the same room, with one small difference: nighttime views of Tokyo tower!" You can see Tokyo at night from LIC! [CurbedWire Inbox]

DUMBO?Is there a problem at the Beacon Tower? A tipster emails that "The blue scaffolding is up around the entrance. I don't think it's even been a year since people moved in and the pre-fab is already falling apart it seems. [CurbedWire Inbox]

CLINTON HILL?Brooklyn not only has raccoons, it has big, bold ones. Specifically: "There is a raccoon visiting my back yard. I saw him climb under my fence just yesterday. I live in Clinton Hill between Classon and Grand. This raccoon is the fattest racoon I have seen in my life. I grew up in the country so I know what a raccoon should look like. He walks right by me, stares me down, and waddles away. This raccoon could not attack anything if his life depended on it. He is twice as fat as the fat cat at the local deli." At least, it's not an insane Park Slope raccoon. [CurbedWire Inbox]
