The outer-boroughs are underserved when it comes to hotels, they keep telling us, which is why a new one seems to get announced every week. The latest inn comes from Long Island City, out in the boonies east of Queens Plaza. There, at 32-47 Queens Boulevard (at 33rd Street), a family that owns two Flushing hotels already bought a two-story building last occupied by a scaffolding company for $3.8 million. The Real Deal reports they'll knock it down and build a 60-room hotel at least three stories tall. Even though the location is slightly remote, it's right on the 7 Train, and hotel developer Sam Chang has already opened a Days Inn nearby. Don't expect The Plaza or anything, LICers. The broker on the deal noted that the hotel will offer "limited services," though it's not clear if one of those services will be discounted hourly rates.
