Carnegie Hall Stabie Wants $10M

New, 68 comments

Carnegie Hall wants to convert the artist studios above the famed concert hall to rehearsal, office and classroom space, but six rent-stabilized tenants still remain. One, 96-year-old photographer Editta Sherman, tells the Post she wants a $10 million buyout: "'They'll have to pay and find me a small place. I'm 96 years old,' the feisty Sherman insisted during an interview in her $530-a-month, 800-square-foot studio above the famed venue." The 43 market-rate tenants have all been gone since March. Some famous peeps have rallied on the rent-stabilized tenants' behalf. [NYP]
